Chicken Schwarma salad bowl




Ingredients:

  • 8 oz chicken breast diced 

  • 1 tbsp olive oil 

  • 1 tsp paprika 

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric 

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper 

  • Salt and pepper to taste 

  • 4 cups mixed greens 

  • 1/2 cup cucumber diced

  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes halved

  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced 

  • 1/4 avocado, sliced

  • 1/4 cup hummus (optional) 

  • Lemon wedges for garnish

  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)


Method:

  • Prepare Chicken Marinade: In a bowl, mix olive oil, paprika, cumin, turmeric, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.

  • Coat Chicken: Add the diced chicken to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are evenly coated. Let it marinate for 15 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the fridge).

  • Cook Chicken: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fully cooked and browned. Set aside to cool slightly.

  • Assemble Salad: In two bowls, layer the mixed greens, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red onion, and avocado.

  • Top with Chicken: Divide the cooked chicken evenly between the two bowls.

  • Add Hummus and Lemon: Add a dollop of hummus to each bowl and serve with a lemon wedge for garnish.
